 The Faculty of Arts, Mansoura University, hosted the Egyptian Women’s Achievements and Successes symposium on the occasion of the celebration of International Women’s Day and Egyptian Women’s Day, which coincides with the anniversary of the Egyptian women’s revolution against British colonialism.

Under the patronage of Ed Sherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, and the leadership of Ed Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and in cooperation with the National Council for Women, Dakahlia Branch, under the patronage of Ed Amina Shalabi, Rapporteur of the Council, with the gracious hosting of the Dean of the College, Ed Mahmoud Al-Jaidi, and the Vice Dean of the College for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs. Ed. Suheir Wahid El-Din, the State Information Service, headed by Professor Dr. Diaa Rashwan, and the Community Awareness Committee at Mansoura University, headed by Ed. Sahar Abdel Aziz Al-Dakrouri, Chairman of the Committee and member of the National Council for Women, Dakahlia Branch. Today, a symposium was held entitled Egyptian Women’s Achievements and Successes, on the sidelines of the celebration of International Women’s Day, March 8th. Egyptian Women March 16

Present at the symposium were Ed Sahar Abdel Aziz Al-Dakrouri, member of the National Council for Women and Chairman of the Community Awareness Committee, Dr. Mona Othman, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Dakahlia, Dr. Aisha Badawi, member of the office of the Deputy Sheikh of Al-Azhar for Creativity and Entrepreneurship, and Sheikh Sami Ajour, Director General of Da’wah and Religious Media at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif. The symposium was moderated by Dr. Maysa Al-Minshawi, Director of the Development Media Unit at the State Information Service, demonstrated the role of the State Information Service in all community awareness activities and the Authority’s cooperation with all bodies and universities to serve the community, in the presence of members of the National Council for Women, Dakahlia Branch, Professor Nana Tarshoubi, the Council’s alternate rapporteur, and Professor Suhair Ezz Al-Arab, Wade Amani Ghabbour, and Wade Salwa Zeid. Dr. Nashwa Al-Shafi’i, members of the Community Awareness Committee, Dr. Sarah Zidan, Dr. Mirna Mohsen, Dr. Amal Younis, Professor Islam Al-Bashlawi, and faculty members at the College of Arts, Dr. Dalia Raslan, coordinator of student activities at the university, Dr. Rania Rawhi, Dr. Duaa Nour, and Professor Abdel Rahman Zaid, director of student and student care at the College of Arts. The symposium began. With words of welcome from the Dean of the College, Ed Mahmoud Al-Jaidi and Ed Amina Shalabi, Rapporteur of the National Council for Women in Dakahlia, Ed Sahar Al-Dakrouri began by congratulating the students and women on International Women’s Day and Egyptian Women’s Day, then she spoke about the gains of Egyptian women in their golden age thanks to the supportive political leadership and the state’s efforts to empower women in all aspects. The axes, whether political, social, or economic, the protection axis, the units to combat violence against women, the medical response units, and the role of the National Council in these axes by providing free training to provide them with the various skills necessary for the labor market, the loans necessary to establish small and micro projects, and the most important current initiatives to help girls, the most important of which are the Dowie initiative and the Dawi initiative. Dr. Mona Othman spoke about the role of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in providing courses and jobs and helping girls and women in the labor market and about the insistence of Egyptian women to succeed at all levels. She presented a successful model of Egyptian women’s excellence in their leadership work and the balance between their societal role and their family role.

Sheikh Sami Ajour spoke about the role of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in supporting women socially and religiously and protecting them in society and about the excellence of women throughout the ages and times. His Eminence discussed many successful examples.
