





The Graduate Follow-up Unit at the Faculty of Arts, Mansoura University, organized a symposium entitled Early detection of tumors, prevention and treatment. Professor Dr. Basil Rifqi, Assistant Professor of Oncology at the Oncology Center at Mansoura University, Secretary General of the Egyptian Society of Female Oncology, and a member of the Presidential Initiative Team for Early Detection of Tumors, lectured at this symposium. It is a medical awareness symposium. To spread a culture of better health through early detection of tumors, under the patronage of Professor Dr. Sherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service, Environmental Development and Entrepreneurship, Professor Dr. Mahmoud Suleiman Al-Jaidi, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Suhair Mohamed Waheed, Vice Dean of the Faculty. Arts for community service and environmental development affairs, and Professor Dr. Doaa Samir, Chairman of the University’s Alumni Association Committee and Vice Dean of the College of Tourism and Hotels for Community Service, Environmental Development and Organization Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Rania Rawhi Mahmoud, Director of the Graduate Follow-up Unit at the College of Arts. The symposium received great interest from female faculty members at the College of Arts. The symposium discussed early detection of tumors and how to prevent them, as Dr. Basil Rifqi stressed that excessive obesity, weight gain, and lack of exercise play a major role in the development of incurable diseases such as breast, colon, and uterine cancer. They are no less dangerous than smoking, as obesity also causes difficulty in performing operations. Surgery and intervention to remove tumors also represent great difficulty in entering radiology machines and receiving radiotherapy. Therefore, one must maintain weight to prevent diseases and follow a healthy diet for a better life free of diseases.
