The Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the College of Arts organized a workshop entitled (Crisis and Disaster Management and Risk Reduction). The workshop was attended by Dr. Amr Jabr, Professor Azza Al-Khamisi, and Dr. Mohamed Riad in the General Administration of the University. This workshop aimed at how to manage risks at the university. To achieve strategic objectives, prevent risks of various types, prevent their occurrence, and activate the control and early warning system in order to protect individuals and property, instil confidence among university employees, and make them feel safe and reassured by assessing and analyzing risks, and treating incidents that occur, while putting in place the necessary measures to avoid negative repercussions and not repeat the event again. Other, the lecturers also pointed out the role of the administration and its approach in dealing with crisis and disaster management and risk reduction and its impact on institutional quality. The lecturers added that it is an important step to follow the policies and tasks of crisis and disaster management and risk reduction in an organized manner and follow the international standards that the university aims to achieve. And to reach it, the lecturers defined the risks, evaluated them, and ways to deal with them. The participants in the workshop, the college’s employees, applied in practice the risks to which they could be exposed, within the framework of distributing some tasks. The workshop received a large attendance from the employees of the College of Arts, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Sherif Youssef Khater, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abdel-Azim, and Prof. Dr. Suhair Waheed El-Din, Vice President of the College for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.
